Differences between cleaning and disinfecting

Updated: Sep 14, 2020

We mistakenly think that when we clean we are also disinfecting, but the two processes lead to different results. We also consider that a place or object is clean, when we do not find visible dirt. But this hygiene is superficial since with the naked eye we cannot detect the germs and bacteria that are around us.

We are used to this type of “visual cleaning” but in fact forgetting the importance of a proper disinfecting.

Good cleaning and disinfecting are essential to avoid contagion and infection in any sector; and now we know it is extremely important in our homes too, especially in areas such kitchens or bathrooms.

What is the difference between cleaning and disinfecting?

Cleaning involves removing germs and dirt from surfaces or objects. This process does not eliminate germs, it only reduces the number and the risk of spreading the disease.

Disinfecting involves eliminating harmful microorganisms and preventing their development. This process does not necessarily clean dirty surfaces, but destroying germs greatly reduces the risk of spreading disease or infection.

At CLEAN LLC, we understand the importance of combining these steps towards a proper disinfecting and cleaning. Our professional staff will make sure your house not only looks spotless after our service but also meets a healthier environment for you and your love ones.
